Mirroring the investments being made in the town’s water system, Article 16 was approved to begin the upgrade process for the Cohasset Wastewater Treatment Plant. The article authorizes funding for the design phase of replacing critical pumping and air systems within the facility.
Vice Chair Paul Kierce of the Sewer Commission explained that the wastewater plant requires similar attention to the water department's aging facilities. The upgrades are intended to ensure the long-term reliability of the sewer system and will be funded through ratepayer revenue. The motion required and received a two-thirds majority to pass.
