Town Meeting approved Article 23, which amends the town's Stormwater Management Bylaw to simplify the review process for residential property owners. Charlotte Peshi, the town's Conservation Agent, explained that the amendment allows for administrative review of single-family home projects that fall outside of wetlands jurisdiction. This change is modeled after a similar process in Scituate.
The goal of the procedural shift is to speed up the permitting process for homeowners while still ensuring that stormwater runoff is properly managed. We're proposing to streamline single family home projects... making those projects outside of wetlands jurisdiction a little bit quicker,
Peshi said. The article passed unanimously, reflecting a desire to reduce administrative hurdles for minor residential construction.
